Magdalena Jetelová studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague in 1967-1968, then studied in Italy for two years and graduated from the Academy after her return(1971). In 1985 she emigrated to West Germany, where she continues to live today. In 1990 – 2004 she taught at the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf, and since 2004 she has been a professor at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich. After the Velvet Revolution she was a consultant for the Prague Castle Council. Her installation at Belvedere Summer Palace in 1993 marked the first time her work was exhibited to Czech audiences. Magdalena Jetelová is one of the most interesting and courageous artists of today. Her strength lies in her sensitivity to expanding space and passion for the sculptural dimension of architecture.
