Luděk Havelka (1908 - 1963) TWO DOSES

The set of design jars made probably around 1940s consists of one wooden model and a subsequent realization of the same shape in plastic (probably bakelite). It was probably created at the time when Luděk Havelka, together with Vincenc Makovský, was involved in the founding of the School of Art in Zlín, where Makovský was the head of the field of shaping machines and tools (today industrial design). The Art and Industrial School of the Bata Works in Zlín was intended to educate industrial artists, taking into account the model of the German Bauhaus movement. Luděk Havelka was a Czech sculptor. He studied at the UMPRUM in Prague (1927-1930) and at the AVU in Prague (1930-1935). In 1935 he studied in Florence as a scholarship student of the Italian government under Prof. Graziosi and Giuselli. In addition to sculpture, he also worked on medals.
