Petr Holeček (1976) DREAMING

After Petr Holeček discovers the technique of casting bronze into a lost mould, his artistic work takes a fundamental turn. This material and technology allows him to materialize previously unrealized thoughts and ideas. It is Dreaming, using the almost limitless possibilities of this technique, that expresses the potential of the theme of dreaming itself, which in the sculpture metaphorically floats above the darker and coarser matter like an imaginary golden bubble. In the artist's work, he gradually abandons abstract representation and the bronze sculptures take on an increasingly figurative character. He regularly participates in major sculpture exhibitions in Ireland, and has also presented at exhibitions in Poland and the Czech Republic. In 2010 he was awarded the Mill Cove Award at The 25th Sculpture in Context Exhibition in Ireland.
