Drawing study of Judith beheading Holofernes by Jan Štursa. The subject moves on the scale of popular Art Nouveau symbolism, the effort to find convincing mobility of the figure that would characterize the tense situation is evident. Jan Štursa first studied at the school of sculpture and stonemasonry in Hořice and from 1899 attended the Prague Academy.
