In Petr Holeček's works we encounter a poetic-ironising level, which builds on analogies to motifs from mythology, dreams and the collective unconscious, but with a bit of human humour. Petr Holeček pushes the material possibilities of bronze and often creates sculptures out of solid and heavy metal, which affect the senses with their airiness and give the impression that they are perhaps even lightened by air. The artist gradually abandons abstract representation and the bronze sculptures take on an increasingly figurative character. He regularly participates in major sculpture exhibitions in Ireland, and has also exhibited in Poland and the Czech Republic. In 2010 he was awarded the Mill Cove Award at The 25th Sculpture in Context Exhibition in Ireland.
