Andrea Pozzo (1642 - 1709) PERSPECTIVE FOR PAINTERS AND ARCHITECTS

Perpectivae pictorum atque architectorum. Der Mahler und Baumeister Perspektiv, part 1 of 2 in total. With engraved frontispiece, portrait of the author, 100 copper engraving plates and 56 sheets of explanatory Latin-German text. Boxbarth's and Bodenehr's copper engravings taken from the original Italian edition became a pictorial manual for 18th century painters, sculptors and architects. Andrea Pozzo became famous as a master of illusory painting and perspective, which he applied especially in the fresco decoration of architecture.
