Southwestern Persia, circa 1920, the so-called "Chicken Chamsa". A wool carpet from the nomadic environment of skilled binders of one of the five lesser-known Persian nomadic ethnic groups, whose confederation has been called "Chamsa" since the 19th century. The carpet admires a rich repertoire of the area, including stars as lucky motifs, stylized birds (including barking chickens and beautifully depicted peacocks, also considered a lucky symbol), as well as anti-evil symbols (S symbol) and a motif, mysteriously called the "wheel of fortune". A beautiful specimen with a prized design.
