Jiří Trnka (1912 - 1969) BOY AND A GIRL

Author's illustration probably for a children's book by the Renaissance personality of the Czech art scene Jiří Trnka. Jiří Trnka was one of the most skilled puppet makers, sewing them costumes according to his ideas and illustrating books extensively. Even the cartoon characters of Trnka's illustrations bore the characteristic features of his puppets, and the author worked on them very carefully and meticulously. His cartoons, which brought Jiří Trnk international fame, were a great success.
