Alfred Justitz (1879 - 1934) BLUMENSTRAUSS IN EINER VASE

Alfred Justitz's work was based on knowledge of painting traditions and tendencies of Czech and European painting. Justitz was a solitaire from the beginning, but the Tvrdošíjní group was very close to him. He exhibited with them as a guest in 1921 and 1923 and became friends with Václav Špála. His bouquet in a vase expresses sensuality and natural aesthetics, in Alfred Justitz's conception it is a call to nature and an expression of the desire to escape. The ingenious artistic shortcut omits excessive descriptiveness and creates an impressive color contrast full of life.
