Michal Gabriel, winner of the Jindřich Chalupecký Prize for the year 1994, currently head of the Sculpture Studio at the Faculty of Arts of the VUT in Brno, began to manifest himself more prominently on the Czech art scene from the mid-1980s as part of collective generational exhibitions known as Konfrontace. The very topic of animals is permeated by the author's work, and he also processed a pack of beasts from graphics in the form of sculptures.
