Zdeněk Mézl was a Czech graphic artist and illustrator who used a distinctive style of woodcut, which makes his works recognizable at first sight. In the years 1949-1953 he studied with Professor Vodrazky at the Higher School of Art Industry in Prague, then in the years 1953-1956 with Professor Vladimír Pukl at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague.
