František Líbal studied at the Prague Academy with Vlaho Bukovac and Max Pirner. After completing his studies, he traveled extensively and created a body of depictions of cathedrals that is highly regarded for its comprehensiveness. He devoted himself to landscape painting and painted mainly Prague and remote places with an exceptional atmosphere.
