Oskar Brázda excelled in portraiture of women and girls, but also in still life painting. He lived a rather colourful life, studying in Vienna and Italy, being interned in Sicily, living in the Castle of Líčkov and eventually spending time in prison. In Italy, his work was very well regarded.
