He gradually moved from veristic realism to impressionism. Stanislav Lolek was born on 10 November 1873 in Palonín. He first studied at the forestry school in Písek and then worked as a forester from 1893 to 1895. Subsequently, he studied painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague from 1895 to 1901 under the guidance of Prof. Julius Mařák and Prof. Rudolf von Ottenfeld.
