Josef Tadeáš Rotter was born in Opava in 1701 into the family of the painter Jeremias Rotter. Among other things, he created commissions for the Brno palace of Jan Leopold of Dietrichstein and the Židlochovice castle. He participated in the decoration of the Capuchin Church of the Finding of the Holy Cross in Brno.
