Karel Pokorný was a Czech sculptor and university pedagogue. He was a pupil of Josef Václav Myslbek, a prominent representative of Czech sculptural realism. As a university teacher, he worked first at the Czech Technical University, later as a professor at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague. He also held the position of rector here in 1948–1950.
