Bedřich Wachsmann ml. (1871 - 1944) NUDE WITH PEONIES

Bedrich Wachsmann Jr. studied at the Prague School of Applied Arts, AVU and at the special school of painter Professor Ženíšek. He studied in Munich and Dresden. He was a professor of nude drawing for 32 years. He became famous primarily as a high quality figuralist and decorated the central hall of the Czech Bank in Prague. The female nude with peonies excels over his other works both in its format and in the elaborate Art Nouveau-tuned nude, which goes beyond the casual themes of bathing.
