The study seated nude belongs to the early work of Alena Čermáková from the time of her studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in the studio of figurative painting under Jakub Obrovský. It was this academic way of painting without any inclination towards modern styles that shaped her the most, so she was suitable for the communist regime and received prestigious commissions.
