Vincenc Beneš (1883 - 1979) LANDSCAPE WITH HOUSES

Vincenc Beneš was initially influenced by French modern painting, especially Cubism. Later, he switched to portraits, landscapes and still lifes, but he retained the morphology and colour of modern French painting and imprinted it into everyday subjects, including cityscapes, flowers in a vase, still lifes with fruit or even figurative themes of human gatherings or the subject of bathing.
