From the expert opinion of PhDr. Nadězda Blažíčková-Horová: "The Žehušice Chateau and the adjacent 250-hectare game preserve belonged to the Thun family - and today it belongs again. In 1826, the game preserve was rebuilt in the style of an English park and a herd of white deer is still kept there. Blažíček visited Žehušice more often in the 1940s and recorded the preserve several times. The present whimsical shot of nature in the game preserve is a beautiful example of the painter's distinctive colouring and extraordinary skill in capturing the atmosphere of the place depicted. The landscape composition is characterized by impressive composition, virtuoso brushwork and an extraordinary sense of color and light."
