František Tavík Šimon was a very prolific and versatile artist. In addition to interesting snapshots in the urban landscape, he was dedicated to pushing the boundaries of graphic techniques and their combinations, which he was able to use to create photorealistic impressions. František Šimon Tavík was one of Max Pirner's pupils and was a prominent printmaker, painter, wood engraver and later taught at the Academy of Fine Arts. He was a member of the SVU Mánes and co-founder of the Hollar association.
