František Tichý (1896 - 1961) PORTRAIT OF A WOMAN

Psychologizing portraits by František Tichý are among the most interesting thematic areas for collectors. The paint is applied in muted tones with relatively strong brushstrokes, and the contrasting surfaces carefully model the actual expression of the individual. At the time of the portrait's creation, František Tichý was probably working at the UMPRUM in Prague.
