Ivan Ouhel (1945 - 2021) VEGETATION

The 1980 painting Vegetation comes from the artist's creative period, when he was trying to discover his own world and express it artistically. Experimental elements of high paste appear here, which give the work a considerable plasticity; he even experimented with Plexiglas at this time. The figurative initial works crystallize into inner authentic worlds that are urgent and close so that we find ourselves in their own space. Ivan Ouhel follows in the tradition of Czech landscape painting without rational bias and enters directly into the landscape without unnecessary descriptive tendencies. The work Vegetace belongs to the thematic range of works that the author's monograph Ivan Ouhel, published in 2009 by Gema Art, refers to as the "Search" stage; analogous works can be found on pages 90 - 94.
