From the expert opinion of PhDr. Naděžda Blažíčková-Horová: "The presented painting Paris Comedians is an undoubted and very beautiful work by the painter Viktor Barvitius, which has already been exhibited and published several times. We most likely date its creation to the period after the mid-60s of the 19th century, to the time of Barvitius' trip to France. with the literature of the period, he liked to capture the environment of the big city in real shots of streets, squares, parks, ice rinks and pilgrimages, and as we can see in the presented picture, he also recorded life on busy streets in painterly excellent compositional sketches of free brushwork in Paris, while solving new artistic problems connected with the question of light and its color effects."
