Bedřich Havránek (1821 - 1899) BY THE FENCE

For more than half a century, Havránek painted unmistakable paintings with landscape motifs, characteristic of his painting style. At the same time, he was always interested in details, from views of trees, stumps, leaves, bushes, individual plants, to stones and rock formations, and in this case, natural scenery growing through the boundaries of human land. It was typical of Havránek that his whimsical subjects were not always an exact transcription of the motif seen. Realistic and detailed painted views of selected locations were compositionally edited.
