From the expert opinion of PhDr. Naděžda Blažíčková-Horová: "The presented Alpine landscape with a lake is the indisputable work of August Bedřich Piepenhagen. Piepenhagen signed himself exceptionally, sometimes only with an AP ligature. Piepenhagen drew the subjects of his numerous charming alpine landscape records not only on his travels, but also in sample books. These contained small variations of natural motifs, which he sent out to his customers and subsequently processed according to their choice into the required format.Sensitivity, mood and nostalgia, the picturesqueness of nature shots, the melancholic lyricism and emotionality of the depicted nature, in which the emphasis is not on the concreteness of the landscape motif, but on its mood , to the feeling it evokes. The presented landscape is a very beautiful example of Piepenhagen's work, whose position of dreamy romanticism has brought the artist universal popularity."
