Ferdiš Kostka (1878 - 1951) A BIG STUPAVA JUG

A significant contribution of the ceramic art of western Slovakia was the enrichment of the Habán-Slovak tradition with a new folk form, which was created by the reworking of the famous Holič ceramics. A large jug with the monogram of Ferdiš Kostka, one of the representatives of Stupava ceramics, bears the image of a ploughman framed in rich floral and geometric ornamentation. Very good condition.
