Norbert Grund (1717 - 1767) (zugeschrieben) ROMANTIC LANDSCAPE WITH A TEMPLE

Norbert Grund was a Czech painter of the late Baroque and Rococo, respectively. The basis of his work consists of small cabinet pictures, most often genre, but also landscape or with biblical themes. The romantic landscape with the ruins of a temple on a hill and a figural staff creates the impression of a melancholy evening mood in places of past glory, where the past meets the present. In the background on the horizon behind the river, the silhouette of the castle is outlined, complemented by a dramatic sky and rolling leaves in the wind.
