Jaroslav Král (1883 - 1942) IN THE PARK

Jaroslav Král is famous for his feminine nudes and lyrical cubism. Unfortunately, Jaroslav Král's painting talent was prematurely terminated by Gestapo abduction and his death in Auschwitz. The landscape motif with a view in the park on the hill could probably be included among the "diary" travel records. The landscape is built precisely with an emphasis on the faithful representation of colors and lights during the summer day, and the treetops are moved by geometrizing and striking brush strokes in accordance with the author's trend towards modern painting and improving the art form, culminating in Cubist figural creation.
