Oldřich Kerhart (1895 - 1947) FROM CORSICA

In a landscape full of silence and tranquillity, there is a harmony of colours and spatial plans. With strong, fading patches, the painter beautifully plays out his palette of green shades and creates a harmonious experience of the landscape. A painter, typographer, illustrator and playwright, Oldřich Kerhart (1895 in Poděbrady - 1947 in Prague) graduated from the Nymburk real school in 1914. Until 1918 he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague under Prof. Jan Preisler, but did not complete his studies. He travelled in Italy and Yugoslavia, visiting Corsica, Paris and Sicily.
