The dining table was designed by Jan Bočan, who combined the materials of mahogany wood, Carrara white marble and purposefully chosen leatherette, which he covered the table surface with. The table leg is composed of several geometric shapes, stacked on top of each other, made of polyturized wood and marble. Jan Bočan graduated in 1962 from the Faculty of Architecture at the Czech Technical University in Prague, where he returned in 1990 as head of the studio after being appointed professor. His most famous projects include the Intercontinental Hotel in Prague and the Czechoslovak embassies in London, Stockholm and Brazil. The offered round dining table was designed by Jan Bočan for the furnishings of the iconic building of the Czechoslovak Embassy in Stockholm, in which, in addition to Jan Bočan, the architects Zdeněk Rothbauer and Jan Šrámek, and many other leading Czech artists collaborated on the detailed interior decoration (Libenský, Brychtová, Demartini, Cígler, Kolíbal). The building was designed by architect Jan Bočan of Studio Beta in Prague (Studio Beta with Jan Bočan also won the competition for the new Czech Embassy in London, which in 1971 won the most prestigious architectural prize awarded by the Royal Institute of British Architects). Jan Bočan worked on the building in Östermalm from 1968-1972 and the embassy was located there from 1972-1998. In addition to the reception rooms, offices and service apartments, the house also contained a cinema, laundry, garage and the very top floor was reserved as a suite for the ambassador. Completely restored.
