Josef Mandel's works are rarely found on the market. He was born into the family of Pilsen goldsmith Josef Mandl, studied at the Academy in Prague, and his work was most influenced by the symbolist expression of Max Pirner. The dramatic landscape of Twilight follows his inclination towards the current of decadence, when he noted the inevitability of transience, the glowing mourning angels in the rocks, and the landscape just presented, chosen in remote areas by the water at dusk, where the outline of a cave is drawn, is built in fading light with the expectation of a tense and haunting . A sketch of a figural study found on the back. Expert opinion by PhDr. Rey Michalová PhD.
