This unique and rare set of musicians and a chaplain in uniforms from the Austro-Hungarian monarchy is the work of Ferdiš Kostka, a prominent folk jug maker and figurative potter, whose work and technique followed the famous Haban ceramics. Just as his brother Ján preferred scenes from contemporary Stupava life, Ferdiš also focused on the people and life of his native village. He and his sister Maria designed group series of several figures depicting the work and play of the people. His ceramic sculptures won him a diploma of recognition at the 1927 World Exhibition in Paris. Very good preserved condition. The dimensions given are the height of the bandmaster, the height of the musician is 18 cm.
