Adriena Šimotová (1926 - 2014) A MODERN COMPOSITION

The presented still life falls into the creative field of phenomenological research of things and their place in our lives. Adriena Šimotová was probably inspired by the elaboration of the topic - Heidegger's lecture - A Thing that circulated in Czech environment in a samizdat edition. The thing represents the companionship of the earth and the heavens, mortal and divine. Someone must have wondered first what such a thing might look like. The mug in the composition can thus represent the very materialized idea - an idea that has materialized around the empty space and is close to us.
