A BIEDERMEIER DESK

Exceptional example of a novel and timeless design of a Biedermeier period writing desk with a richly figured wood top and two inconspicuous drawers carried by a total of four Doric columns with inlaid mahogany canelures joined by a spine in a similar column style. The quality of the workmanship and the extraordinary design make it most likely a model from the prestigious Viennese furniture workshop Danhauser. Restored, excellent condition.
