The works of Grigory Musatov must be understood in a broader context, including his life in Russia. As the son of icon painter Grigory Musatov, he showed artistic talent from an early age. Since the 1920s, his style has changed significantly, the contours are slowly receding and he attaches much more importance to illuminated phenomena mediated through impression.
