This is a rare private print of the RA 1945 edition with an edition of 20 copies. Václav Zykmund is one of the outstanding personalities of the second surrealist wave in Czech art. He studied descriptive geometry and drawing at Charles University and the Czech Technical University in Prague. He lived and worked in Brno and Olomouc for a significant part of his life. He was active in various artistic, literary, and theoretical disciplines and was involved in several artistic groups. The most important was his founding role in the post-surrealist group RA in Brno. The offered set of 20 graphic sheets of various formats of individual plates exhibits a morphology typical of the artist, based on an expressively reduced system of figurative and non-figurative motifs. Printed by František Henych. Numbered (except sheet 2) lower left: 1/20. The size shown is the size of the paper.
