Jiří Trnka (1912 - 1969) CLOWN AND A KING

Jiří Trnka also created a fairytale-like drawing for winemaker Karel Novák. Jiří Trnka, a versatile artist who is known as a great painter, graphic artist, sculptor and book illustrator, was also one of the founders of our puppetry and the puppet film, which became famous all over the world. The main field of his artistic activity was illustration and stage design, the most famous are e.g. book illustrations of Karafiát's "Beetles", Erben's and Grimm's fairy tales, etc.
