Hubert Kovařík (1888 - 1958) PUTTI WITH GRAPES

Hubert Kovařík was born in Breclav in 1888. He was an important Czech sculptor, ceramist and painter. He belonged to a strong generation of young artists who were trained at the Kunstgewerbeschule in Vienna under the leading artists of the Viennese Art Nouveau and Modernism. Together with other artists, he founded a ceramic workshop in Kunštát, which became famous for its Kunštát ceramics.
