Adriena Šimotová (1926 - 2014) UNTITLED

Author's print of a three-color lithograph by Adriena Šimotová, who often resorted to experiments, especially with textiles and paper, and created an impressive collection of original graphics. Šimotová was born on August 6, 1926 in Prague. She graduated from a graphic high school and the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in the studio of Professor Josef Kaplický, where she also met her husband Jiří John. Since the 1960s, she has been one of the artists around the UB 12 group, the New Group and the renewed Umělecká beseda.
