Ota Janeček (1919 - 1996) OF OK

OF OK's painting reflects the events after the beginning of the Velvet Revolution, when the Civic Forum was established as a broad, spontaneous platform for civic independent activities. OF rejected the totalitarian communist regime. In Slovakia, the Public Against Violence (VPN) movement played a similar role. The first informal leader of the OF movement was Václav Havel. Ota Janeček symbolically composed it in the form of a triumphant pyramid with flags rising to the blue sky.
