Clock from Meissen was designed by Paul Scheurich from the Late Art Nouveau period with statues of stylized cupids on colored cushions carrying a clockwork with a dial with Arabic numerals and a stylized sun in the middle. Paul Scheurich is described as the most important porcelain designer of the 20th century. He studied at the Berlin Academy, his first collaboration with the Schwarzburger Werkstätten beginning in 1910, and during the 1920s and 1930s, he designed for the famous Meissen porcelain factory. In addition to porcelain, the price is his graphic work. Identical clocks are part of the collection of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. Marked with the Meissen mark, crossed blue swords at the back on the pedestal. Half beating. Great condition.
