Gaetano Sciolari (1927 - 1994) PAIR OF DESIGN CHANDELIERS

The space age of humanity, kicked off by the launch of the first artificial satellite, Sputnik 1, also gave rise to a new aesthetic, often based on futuristic visions in design and choice of material. Among the designers associated with this aesthetic current is the Italian Gaetano Sciolari, who owned and designed luxury lighting models himself. Sciolari was one of the most sought-after Italian lighting dealers in the United States. Sciolari worked for major designers such as Stilnovo, Boulanger and Stilkronen. The two chandeliers offered here feature a chrome construction with vertically placed rods, between which are chrome plates fitted with solid glass decorations illuminated by light bulbs. Excellent condition, newly electrified.
