František Drtikol (1883 - 1961) NUDE

In 1935 František Drtikol stopped his photographic activity and devoted himself mainly to painting and spiritual teachings. It was painting that helped him to fully express the meaning values he attached to light. His paintings dealt with the themes of productive landscapes, symbolic figurative compositions related to photographs of nudes, and often depicted glowing female figures, stripped of unnecessary earthly ballast. Glowing women, archetypal beings who move quite freely, have found an earthly paradise. Carefree, wise and sharing a transcendent world of knowledge and infinite possibilities.
