Bohumír Matal (1922 - 1988) LANDSCAPE

Bohumír Matal is one of the leading representatives of Czech art in the second half of the twentieth century. He was a prolific experimenter and in the 1960s his work includes a body of lyrical abstraction. In a lyrical manner, he attempts to give the static genre a broader context that would serve to understand its essence. Permanence and mutability are intertwined in the flowing plastic substance that is absorbed into the indicated areas of vegetation.
