Hand knotted wool carpet on wool warp. Geometric rug with a dominant keyhole design that dominates the entire composition and includes trees of life and ram's horns. A variety of motifs, taken from various Caucasian regions, make this piece an eclectic rug with a classic so-called crab border, in which the interconnected flowers with tendrils are reminiscent of crabs, and the crudely stylized striped animal motifs around the keyhole are mostly thought to be stylized peacocks.
