Alois Kalvoda (1875 - 1934) BIRCHES IN FALL

Alois Kalvoda had a natural feeling for the colour of the landscape and was one of the most sought-after pupils of the Mařák Landscape Specialty. A sketch of autumn birches in soft cool light reveals both his slight melancholy and his effort to conceive even relatively simple landscapes in a very decorative way with looser contours. Framed under anti-reflective glass with UV filter.
