František Ženíšek (1849 - 1916) A STANDING NUDE

Ženíšek, a member of the National Theater generation, was a sought-after and recognized portraitist. A nude that he rendered very vividly and literally, which demonstrates his ability to work with realistic color, proportions and light. In the area of the face, he works rather sketchily and gives the model a moderate amount of anonymity, while the longevity of her curves generously indulges the audience.
