Academic sculptor Petr Novák from Jaroměř works mainly with natural materials such as marble, sandstone, wood, but also creates bronze sculptures. He graduated from the Secondary Industrial School of Stonemasonry in Hořice v Podkrkonoší and then from the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague. During his studies, he traveled to Italy, after which he became a passionate lover and admirer of the Italian Renaissance and modern art. Among the most famous works of Novák is the equestrian statue of T. G. Masaryk in Lány. It was the horse with the human figure that became the varying motifs in Novák's work. The offered bronze statue is published in the author's catalog in a marble version together with a sketch.
