Jan Dědina was a Czech academic painter, illustrator of genre pictures in magazines, author of writings about artists. He studied under František Ženíšek, Max Pirner and Josef Václav Myslbek. His significant motifs include detailed portraits of ladies in broad hats and high-fashion clothing with corsets and richly ruffed skirts.
